I’m studying a combined Bachelor of Arts (Chinese Studies) and Bachelor of Laws at The University of Sydney. Growing up an avid reader of the newspaper, Asia and China featured prominently and piqued my curiosity from an early age. When the opportunity to study Mandarin arose during high school, I grasped it with both hands. That decision has since fuelled a deep interest in global affairs, and ambition for a career spent facilitating greater economic and cultural exchange between Australia and Asia.
I hope to use my understanding of the Australia-China relationship to create opportunities for more Australians to learn from and engage with the world’s most populous country. Australia's 'China literacy' is severely lacking, despite the centrality of the relationship to our immediate and longer-term prosperity.
Beyond study and work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running and playing all kinds of sport, and have an interest in the issues facing First Nations Australians.
