Biography
Growing up Chinese in Australia, I have always grappled with my sense of identity and after 20 years I have finally learnt to embrace my cultural heritage. Now, I just yearn to learn all I can about Asian language and culture to reconnect with my roots and I believe this immersive exchange experience will be the perfect opportunity.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne and I hope to continue on to a career in Public Health and science communications. I feel it’s critical to foster cross-cultural empathy and understanding for the future of such a diverse country as Australia.
Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy audio dramas and writing/performing spoken word poetry with friends. Australia is a nation of stories and I believe in the transformative power of storytelling to bring people together!
